The Gifted Program was designed to serve our top performing students. It is an academically challenging curriculum in which students are introduced to concepts using a variety of teaching strategies and methodologies. There is emphasis on an accelerated pace, enriched curriculum, critical thinking and hands on participation. The program also encourages the student's creativity and self-expression. We believe that children learn from each other, which is the underlying philosophy of a gifted track. The expectations and work load for students in this program are more rigorous and require an additional commitment from both students and parents.

Our teachers share the commitment to provide learning that is accelerated as well as enriched. This program is suited to students that are highly motivated and talented. We are proud to be a member of the Chicago Public School Comprehensive Gifted Programs.

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

Placement in this program is based on the following criteria:

1) ISAT scores in both Reading and Mathematics,

2) Student's academic performance

3) Teacher recommendation and/or observations.
